Minimalist

Here's to a brand new start to Project 365!  I'm so happy that I kept up and finished last year's P365 and although some weeks were completely CLM dominated (well, he was the subject of most my life last year, lol), I'm pretty satisfied with most of my pages.

This year, I think I'm going to take on a different approach to scrapping the photos.  Inspired by "one little word", which seem to be all the rave in blogsphere these days, I'm going to stick with mine: minimal.  After all, less = more a lot of the times.  So, I will stick with simple layouts, simple embellishments and minimal flare but still lots of journalling (or I shall try, lol).

With my OLW in mind, I finished my P365 cover page in record time!

Hopefully I can finish scrapping my first two weeks soon.  I don't want to fall behind!

New Year, New Beginnings

... and that's a wrap!  Twenty twelve is over already!  I'm happy to say I've accomplished quite a bit in the past year.  I've turned a new page in life by welcoming my dear CLM, conquered a short bout of PPD, successfully finished P365, and discovered a new appreciation for those around me, especially Mom.  Not to sound cliché, but I LOVE YOU MARMAR!

So!  Catching up with where I left off: CLM has not been sleeping very well again!  What's new? Last night, he woke up at 12:45am and didn't go back to sleep until after 3am.  Then he woke up this morning at 6:30am.  I have no idea how this boy can go with such little sleep.  Not that he makes up for it during the day at nap time either.  He's the first baby I've met who developed dark circles under his eyes due to lack of sleep.  WHAT am I going to do with him?!?

Parties amongst parties to screw up CLM's already screwed up sleeping schedule.  Poor CLM.

Christmastime is always an excuse to get together with friends and family to eat and chill so poor CLM's schedule was all screwed up!  Since the oyster party at Karen's, where he got freaked out from all the people, he's been crazy clingy and kept waking up multiple times at night.  Funny thing is, he will wake up, climb up the side of his crib and stand there yelling for me to go get him.  The other night was pretty freaky when I happened to look over to his crib in the dark, and suddenly see a little hand reach over the railing.  Totally reminded me of some random horror flick.  Then his little head poked up.  哎呀, 阿媽心血少啊!

Besides babbling at a mile a minute, nonstop "boo" 口水, CLM does the funniest goodbye gesture.  It's very 含蓄.  We call it "含蓄的拜拜".  So 含蓄 and so cute!  He still likes long, thin sticks in which he can pass from hand to hand and rap on hard surfaces to make sounds.  When he's up to it, he'll occupy himself by throwing an object like a highlighter across the room, crawling up to it to pick it up, then throw it in the opposite direction so he can crawl towards it again.  Keeps repeating it over and over until the highlighter ends up somewhere where he can't reach, lol.

Food wise, CLM is still an avid avocado lover.  Still enjoys eating his plain, unflavoured yogurt, his Mum Mum crackers and recently started liking blueberries and Cheesestrings!  He is finally experimenting with putting things in his mouth.  Good thing it's only food, haha.

I'm so happy with my new toy!
For the record, we named the moose"含蓄的 moo-sie" because we can get one of its antlers to wave a 含蓄的拜拜.

I hosted the 12th annual oyster party at Karen's this year and despite the nasty freezing rain, everyone showed up!  It was great!  Yummy food, slurpy oysters, fresh sushi and best of all, great friends to eat all the food and spend the evening with!

Between all the parties and gatherings I'm glad I had a chance to get a much needed 40 minute massage over the weekend.  Haven't had a massage since going with 可可 in July!

Here's to an upcoming year of great health, good laughs, and hoping everyone will 心想事成 (and I hope to get more sleep, lol)!

2013, here I come!

Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

This Christmas is extra special because of CLM!  I can't believe he'd be 11 months in a few days.  Oh, where did the time go?  CLM's first Christmas means lots of love from family and friends.  Which also means my entire living room floor is covered with gifts for him.  Yep, I can't wait to clean up, lol.

The last month has been really hectic.  Actually, super hectic would be an understatement.  It all started when 文生 caught a cold which he spread to CLM.  In turn, got mom sick and then inevitably, I got sick too.  That damn cold stuck to CLM for 3 weeks!  The first week was pretty brutal with CLM waking up every 1-2 hours because he was so congested.  Then he started sneezing, coughing, and just when we thought we were done being sick, he threw up five times!!  Poor guy!  Luckily he didn't have a fever so we just had to let the virus ride out its course.  Boy, it took waaaay too long.

Development wise, CLM's been taking many steps!  He is now quite a fast crawler although he still doesn't like crawling.  He's definitely a careful cruiser but loves to "run" when we're holding his hands.  He won't sit still for very long anymore as he's always wanting to get on the floor to walk!

I finally finished week 49 and 50 of P365 tonight.  I was so tired today after battling a mall of frenzied last minute shoppers and a long tedious wait at the passport office, running on just 3 hours of sleep, that I took a nap before dinner.  Of course that meant I'd not feel tired to sleep at my usual bedtime so here I am blogging.  Might as well get something accomplished, lol.

Being sick sucks... and for three weeks!  Poor Curtasee!

Finally a decent presentable photo of 文生 and I at the Greenpark Christmas Gala.
I love the odd excuse to get dolled up!

I really should head to bed since it's present unwrapping time in just a few hours!  Although I've already "unwrapped" my present from Ray: my new Galaxy Note 2 (aka new toy!).  More on Christmas presents, oyster party under freezing rain, and other miscellaneous things in another post.

Night!

December Equals...

December = busy
December = lazy
so does that mean busy = lazy?

Sort of and kind of.  Every December I look back and ask myself, where did the year go?  It's the time of the year when there are a bajillion parties to prepare and attend, lots of gift and wine wrapping going on at the office, mounds of panettone to be eaten, tons of food to be indulged in and dozens of oysters to be shucked!  Therefore, busy.

That being said, I've sort of fallen behind in completing my two recent P365 layouts.  All the photos are taken and 95% scrapped, BUT I have a few finishing touches to add to them which means they're obviously not done.  I still have to Christmas shop for CLM, 文生, mom and a few others.  I'll probably end up not getting anything :(  Therefore, lazy.

There you have it, busy = lazy.  At least in my books.  Haha.

Okay, I REALLY Jinxed It

Okay, so I really did jinx it.  My dear CLM woke up every hour the last two nights, rendering this poor mammie a walking zombie.  I'm pretty sure it's because he's congested although he sounds fine during the day!  I think poor CLM caught a cold from 文生.  Who happen to have gotten a flu shot... go figure!  I better not get sick again...

Yet another CLM dominated page!  I gotta get out more, LOL~!

On Saturday, I took Curtasee shopping at Fairview Mall.  OMG, I remember why I can't stand shopping on weekends, let alone in the month of December!  People are so pushy and rude!  I shake my head every year thinking why people bother with Christmas shopping, when they forget the real reason behind Christmas.  Sigh.  I contemplated taking Curtasee to see Santa, but decided against it because I know he's going to start squirming and then crying, lol.

I have a feeling December is just going to fly right by and before I know it, I would have completed my first ever Project 365, survived my first year as a mammie and Curtasee will be one.  Oh Em Gee...
