笑爆咀! but please don't call this Chinglish!

The following is very poorly written but quite funny!! Some may call it Chinglish, but unfortunately, it's the girl's poor attempt at using English letters to write out her Cantonese...

----------
我是Lucy, I went to Miss Hong Kong first interview. Wah d judges very not polite and not nice law. Today I see a megazine saying this year's Girls so ugly. I saw many good and pretty girls there but they didn't choose ja ma. Don't choose mei suen law but the judge in first interview-- most very not polite to many young girls and to to me law. I only 18 the judges ask me to "why join Miss HK go and why not study la u only F7 ja wor how can fright with other wor." Also say my English bad-- hurt die me.

Ho La, other girl tell me la, she study in University ok ga dou but little fat or short then the judge(woman) said "why you look fat or so short!" wah ho hurt ga ma.

One girl is a博士 student ar very high level and very nice ga dou cant get in second interview la. We think she will be in ga but she said no law. You can search her pic and my pic to see la. She gum high level duo ng dak, gum me ng duk duo rite gei but i think the whole choosing is not fair law, choose model mei? young yao inch', high study level yao inch, short yao inch--- They onky choose rich girl law so bad.

We don't go and let them inch ga law if they need tall or high level people then why not put in the application form lei.

Project Scrapping ver. 3.1

I haven't forgotten about scrapping my Hong Kong and Taiwan pics (or blogging my journal entries), but it just takes SO much time!! I'm happy to say (well, sort of) that I have completed scrapping 9 days of the 25 -_-" and almost done the 10th day of the trip. Yay, progress!

In the interim, I've taken some breaks here and there =P and scrapped some pages of 大 Mei 姐's kids, and Nicole & Nathan. Today I decided to take on a scrapping challenge and submitted one of my layouts! It was fun to do and I am starting to find that I need to scrap with templates to be the least bit efficient!! Can't wait to start posting what I've done with the Hong Kong / Taiwan pics but in the meantime, I guess I can do with posting just the challenge page I did today.

星期六晚撑檯腳

What a gloomy Saturday today... partly cloudy with mild spitting... yuck~!

Mar Mar called bright and early this morning at 8:30am (>.<) and woke me up to let me know she got to HK safe and sound...yay~
...then my aunt woke me up again at 10:30am (what's with the siblings eh?) -_-"

文生 and I didn't really feel like doing anything much today so we decided to buy something to cook at home. Since canner lobsters were still on sale this week, we grabbed a couple and the two of us 撑檯腳'd tonight! 啲龍蝦okay甜啦...都okay好肉. Relaxed after dinner and watched some Planet Earth.

Gotta get ready for Nicole's 4th birthday party on Monday. Now what am I going to get this kid that has her own Jeep and house???

Mar Mar goes to HK!!

...and off she goes to HK via Cathay Pacific. I don't really mind it when I travel alone, but since my aunt backed out last minute, my poor Mar Mar's gotta have to do a lot of the sightseeing by herself. Good thing she has friends taking care of her while she's there!! 今朝「雞啼咁早」(my alarm is a rooster cry LOL) 就起身車媽咪去機場. 6:20am wake up time...not too bad... compared to her arrival 4 weeks later when I have to be there to pick her up at 5:45AM!!!

Have fun in HK, Macao, Taiwan and other places Mar Mar!!!!!

Not a crank caller afterall?

So in the last few days I've been convinced that I was the target of a crank caller. However, I just received a call from a totally different number (also visible from call display) and an older man this time:

~ 1:03pm ~
M: Hi, I'm calling about the ad you have in the Sun
J: What ad is this?!?
M: Yes, the ad from the Toronto Sun
J: Yes I know, what ad is this?
M: (pause)
J: What is the ad about?
M: (hesitates) Adult Entertainment
J: Okay, someone's gonna have to call the Sun and let them know they've printed the wrong number!!!
M: Oh, I'm so sorry sweetie... bye bye

The man was pleasant enough on the phone. Unless people have absolutely NOTHING to do with their lives than to crank call people and get others to crank call the same person, I'm convinced that those calls were truly in response to this "adult entertainment" ad. Now I'd like to find out what this ad says and call the Sun to complain!!!

PS: 可可 I believe that you are correct ;)

Welcome to the Club!

Today marks a very special day for 文生... it's his BIRTHDAY!!!

As a tradition, we celebrate 文生's birthday with another birthday girl who happens to be just FIVE days older... PEGGY!! On Saturday, we went for Japanese cuisine at Miyabi where the 6 of us were barely full from having the sashimi boat, uni sushi, beef tataki, lobster tempura, hamachi kama and the giant California roll of a sushi "cake" that I made. We ended up having to order more food over bubble tea at the Green Grotto. LOL!

On Sunday, the celebrations continued as I managed to keep 文生 in the dark (despite him being at home for the entire day) for the surprise 盆菜 dinner we had at home. Thanks Mom, for preparing the yummy 海參, 冬菇, 發菜, 扣肉 etc. etc. It was a BIG pot of 盆菜 but the 6 of us managed to eat it ALL!! Muahahahaha!!

Happy Birthday Hun Hun and Peggy!!

Crank call?

Last night, I went out with Meishan for hotpot at Icook Buffet. Had the 酸菜魚鍋 and the 臭臭鍋. They were both quite good! The 臭臭鍋 could be a bit more stinky though.

As I was getting out of the elevator after driving Meishan home, my phone rang. Fumbling with my keys, bags, wet umbrella and my phone, I picked it up wondering who would call me at such an ungodly hour. The call was from a slightly clueless young man. Conversation as follows:

~ 12:58am ~
M: I'm calling about the ad you have in the paper.
J: Uh, okay...
M: I'd like to know how much you charge?
J: What number are you calling?
M: repeated my phone number
J: Uh, okay... you're calling my number from an ad.
M: Yes, so how much do you charge?
J: Depends on where you saw the ad... (I wanted to find out where he got my number)
M: Um...it was from the Sun. So, what is your rate?
J: You want the per minute rate or the hourly rate? (Really curious about what he's calling about now)
M: Um...the hourly rate.

At that point, I really didn't know how to continue so I hung up on him. Still puzzled, I thought that would be the end of the 2-minute conversation. As I had just stepped through the front door, I started telling 文生 about this weird call. At 1:00am, he calls back and I purposely ignore the call. He calls back a third time so I got 文生 to take the call. This time, he tells 文生 he got the wrong number. This is the kicker - he then sends me a text message!

I'm guessing this boy is serious for this quote!! If it takes 3 phone calls and 1 text message at 1:00am in the morning, it better be a desperate call. This is by far the most original crank call I've gotten, in the 14+ years of having this phone number. Go figure!
